Sarah Kidd’s story is an incredible story! I was excited to read it and learn about her life and her experiences. And for the record, her life and experiences were amazing. My biggest criticism of the book was that there just didn’t seem to be enough information about Sarah to write an entire book on her. The author speculated a lot about what could have happened and how Sarah might have felt and handled things. It honestly made me feel disconnected from the story. I understand that, since the historical record was so incomplete, the author probably just didn’t have a lot of options about how to handle it. But, I was left feeling a little sad nonetheless. Overall, a good read. 3 stars.
