Too contrived. It abandons the basic plot mechanism of the first book (time loop/live die repeat) so Davi can become a Better Person. Plot beats are awkward and forced. 

I went searching for spoilers and I know the ending is also contrived and generic, so I’m not interested in slogging through another hundred pages of Davi Learns How To Not Be A Psychopath just for a ‘well duh’.
