This book was a really nice read. I love Alexis Hall's humor, and it was really present in this one! I loved Sam, and I loved Jonathan, too, after a few chapters. I enjoyed the relationship between Jonathan and his family, even though are first it was super strained. Having Sam there to smooth over some of Jonathan's roughness and call him out on being a dick helped Jonathan realize how shitty he was being, and ultimately helped him see past Sam's big oof at the end. I also loved that Gollum was so instantly on Jonathan's lap for the rest of forever. It was really cute to see Jonathan fuss over him.
