This took me forever to finish even though it was an audiobook. It just seemed too easy to put down. While Esrahaddon was not a bag character I did not enjoy the pacing of this book that basically told four different stories over the span of Esrahaddon's life. While they all came together more or less in the end, I do not enjoy time jumps and what they do to the story.
I did enjoy the Easter eggs for the rest of Elan but am thinking this book might work better for someone who hasn't read all other Elan books (because Esrahaddon's willful ignorance of supernatural events is very tiring and knowing the ending without knowing the surviving takes some of the suspense out of this book.
Ultimately a fun read, but feels more like four novellas than one novel
