It’s been many years since I have read anything by Jane Austen. Persuasion was such a lovely way to venture back into the Regency Era, bringing all of the intrigue and rules of aristocracy and proper society. It definitely took me a few chapters to become invested in the characters and fall into the “swing of things” regarding the writing style & use of English, but I thoroughly enjoyed it. Austen had a humor and an elevated sense of things that was before her time, and reading this novel has encouraged me to read another one in the near future.
