This was pretty good but it felt like it had a lot going on, keeping up with all the characters at first was a bit of a challenge and then the main conflict of the book doesn’t start for 100 or so pages So it’s a little slow going. Some of the consequences of the magic seemed a little out there and slightly contrived. I enjoyed it but it’s not in my top spots for this year.
