I feel like this is the most realistic version of a relationship in a long while. Bennett is someone that I can relate to a lot with her need to keep with change and also abandonment issues. I feel like the reason why Dane and her work is because they are the healthy and unhealthy versions of what abandonment does to someone. I find that Dane was respectful and also understood his own worth and I found myself really rooting for Bennett because she knew her limits. This was a great balance in a relationship.

I find that the relationships that Bennett built were very healthy, albeit odd, for her. I appreciated that the moments of death didn't stop Dane or Bennett to be too proud. I am glad that they were there for each other. The timeline of their relationship moved in chunks of time and I appreciate that because of how little they saw each other over the year-ish of their relationship. I also appreciate that it wasn't a dive-in-lose-yourself kind of love.

I really, really loved this book. Definitely a favorite for the year so far.
