This is probably one of the hardest reviews I've written in a long time, because I don't quite think I've recovered from this book just yet. I'll start by saying that this is by far, the best book that Weir has written. I enjoyed both of his previous novels, but this one is on a whole new level.

Ryland Grace, sole survivor of his crew, is on a suicide mission to save humanity. The only issue is, he doesn't actually know that, he can't even remember his own name. If he doesn't know who he is, or what he's doing, how will he save the world? Well... A chance encounter with an unlikely ally might just give him the shot he needs.

This book is a journey. It's a dazzling, mystifying journey through space, narrated by a resourceful and witty scientist. As much as I want to scream about every detail of this book, I think it's important I don't overshare. A lot of the magic of the story is in allowing yourself to be whisked away on the journey.

This is one of the most fun, and unexpectedly wholesome space novels I have ever read. If you loved The Martian, you'll love this, and I think if you loved anything by Becky Chambers, you'll love this. As a side note, Rocky. I love him so, so much. He is the best thing to exist in a book ever. I swear I almost cried like 3 times reading this.
