i've said it before and i'll say it again: i really truly have outgrown the YA contemporary genre, but some wretched remnants of loyalty keep me here, suffering. i hate how insipid the characters are, how trite the conflicts. and don't get me started on the writing styles (or lack thereof). white people need to just stop writing contemporaries, especially about *private school kids*. i'm just :/
