Do Not Disturb
by A.R. Torre
“Death. It is a strange stalker, one that we spend our whole lives running from, some more successful than others.”
Book 1: The Girl in 6E Review ★★★★☆
4 stars. Even better than book one. It starts off really slowly but then things happen and there’s a major shift and the action gets going and it becomes absolutely addicting. The story takes a turn and a bunch of twists that I honestly did not see coming. I just thought that Torre would toe the line but then wouldn’t actually go there but holy hell did she go there. I’m still in shock.
Deanna Madden just might be one of my favorite heroines ever. She’s just such a complex and interesting character. She’s self assured and funny. Independent as hell and she takes no prisoners. Everything about her character just works for me. Her relationship with Jeremy, while just like in the first book, takes a back seat to the overall story but I did really enjoy seeing them together more. Also, getting to know a bit more about Jeremy was great since I think he’s an interesting character as well, we just need to get his perspective more.
I loved the Mike chapters and getting to know him. He was, besides Deanna, easily my second favorite character in this book. Even though he made some dumbass decisions, he still came across as very likable and relatable. Also, his sort of girlfriend, but not really is named Jamie and I got a kick out of that even though she was dumb as a doorknob.
I think the subject matter of the first book was darker but this book this one still had me on edge and had me low-key never wanting to get on the internet again. I’m so excited to get to the next book and see what crazy adventure Deanna goes on next, especially after the events of this book.
