A Life Observed: A Spiritual Biography of C. S. Lewis by Devin Brown

5.0

I can’t begin to express all my thoughts and feelings on this book. I found it to be fantastic. Devin Brown does a wonderful job telling Lewis’s spiritual journey. He takes most of his facts from Lewis’s own penned words, with some friends and family’s added in.
The story is captivating and well written. It drew me in from the beginning and had me wanting to keep going to discover more about C.S. Lewis, by the end I was strongly desiring a trip to Oxford to see where Lewis lived, worked, and was inspired to write his books.
I appreciated his portrayal of Lewis, he didn’t put him on a pedestal or make him seem sinless, but I felt he honored him and his journey. I came away even more in love with Lewis than I was when I first picked the book up.
