The Goddess Test by Aimée Carter

3.0

Reimaginings of Greek mythology seems to be coming increasingly popular, and Hades is often at the center of the retellings. This attempt wasn't one of the best that I've read, but it still had its moment. I enjoyed Kate's growth as a leader. She had to make the tough choices, like over the whole Theo-Ava-Xander issue, and was able to do so no matter how much it hurt.

I did have a few moments where my suspension of disbelief reached its limit, namely on the new take on the Hades-Persephone myth. Hades a virgin? No. Uh uh. Not buying that for a minute. These are the Greek gods we're talking about here.

Overall, an interesting reworking of the Greek mythology, but there are other, better ones to take the time to read.
