This is not a genre I’m usually into or read much, but this debut was really good!
This book just pulled me in and I admittedly skimmed/read the first half quickly to see what happened before going back to read it at a normal pace. You could just feel the chemistry and history between the two characters. It was heartbreaking at times how much Rory and Mara just wanted to go back to how things were before, but they kept resisting it and hating each other. I very much enjoyed the redevelopment of those strong feelings and the fierce loyalty to each other by the end of the book.
Forgot to add this in my initial review, but this would be the type of book to get adapted into film and do really well. The writing is already so visual that I don’t think it would be hard to adapt onto the screen.
