The Night Manager by John le Carré
2.0

I decided to read this after I had watched the miniseries on Amazon Prime just a few months prior. The story is very different - different era, different climax, different outcome. There are so many characters introduced that it is easy to get lost on who is who, with the exception of the few main characters (and if you've watched the miniseries as well, you'll notice that some characters have changed gender, which I don't mind, but it can confuse you when trying to visualize who is who). Lots of bouncing around between scenes and during the earlier parts of the book, even bouncing from different moments in time. This book is also heavily laced with strong language, which is a major deterrent for me, and there were pages that were difficult for me to get through. Overall story is one of espionage and given that I knew where the story would go, roughly based off the miniseries, it was a little interesting, but I was confused so often with the different characters and being bounced around it made me lose my interest. The book ends fairly abruptly and doesn't give much of a conclusion. Once I finished I was rather disappointed.
