Heartstopper Volume 5 by Alice Oseman

5.0

Waited SO SO long for this and it didn’t disappoint! I’m glad Alice Oseman decided to split the ending into two more volumes instead of cramming all into one, because seeing the character growth and the journey all of them are going on - especially Nick and Charlie of course - is just so lovely to see. This volume deals with things from previous volumes like Charlie’s mental health, but I feel like Nick’s worries and struggles are more on the forefront here. I’m able to relate to a lot of what Nick thinks, like being unsure about your future, not knowing what to do, but at the same time feeling pressured to need to have figured everything out. Charlie’s growth is also lovely to see and we finally got a teeny tiny bit of background on Charlie’s mum, so I feel I can understand her a lot more now. I really don’t want this series to end, but I also cannot wait to finally see all the characters decisions and futures. But first, I have to wait for Volume 6 to come out - oh boy.
