An interesting take on the idea of a supervillain and the "hero" fated to defeat them. Some plot twists seemed very obvious to me but I was surprised by the ending. I'm not sure the world building really works. It also feels a bit uncomfortable that we are told almost all the other members of this team of Chosen Ones are people of color, but our protagonist is the one white, conventionally attractive woman.
