This book sucked me in right from the beginning. It was beautifully morbid, with a hint of romantic goth which is shown through the writing and the poetry woven throughout the book. While I wanted to give it 5 stars, there are some things that happened towards the end that felt rushed, and didn't leave much for closure due to past history. Still, worth the read.

Ardella: Grew up with a fascination with death and a father who runs a mortuary. While growing up as a loner, she meets her best friend in college and this sparks a path of self discovery and expression through writing, though this is done under a pseudonym.

Jack and Roman: Foster brothers from a shrouded past that take to robbing graves to survive. One, who views life through the lenses of romance and death, while the other will do anything to get ahead.

Their world collides with Ardella, through a chance encounter, causing everyone to re-evaluate what they once thought they knew, to a new future that was brighter than what they imagined.

Spice: 4/5

Triggers:Ehhhh...pretty mild but still read the Author Notes if death is unnerving.
