The Wedding Crasher by Mia Sosa

4.0

Another lovely read in the books!

I really enjoyed The Wedding Crasher-- the chemistry between the leads was believable, as was their eventual fall into romance. I loved both protagonists equally.

That said, there's some major suspending of disbelief when it comes to the central conflict aka fake dating, it leads to a climax that underwhelmed.

Nevertheless, the leads kept me engaged and committed to the story. I enjoyed it thoroughly!

Something I would like to mention is how much I absolutely appreciated the way Portuguese was written in the novel. Far too many times I see books were a written foreign language is immediately followed by an English translation. Instead, Sosa allowed the words in Portuguese to flow naturally, uninterrupted with quick translation. The meaning of the words are organically weaved into the story, rather than through direct translation. It kept me engaged, allowing the narrative to flow so beautifully.
