East of West, Volume 7 by Jonathan Hickman

5.0

The art work is absolutely stunning, especially the colors. Frank Martin really stepped up his game in this book.

Wolf is the Prophet? What happened to that other guy?

Wolf ate the Prophet, that’s messed up.

The scene with Chamberlain and Madame President Palpatine was so great. I love how they made good use of the hologram communication to make the president look small and helpless.

“The carrot, you see, is the stick. People love to think they’re defiant. They love to play the rebel. Tell them they cannot have the leash—deny it to them…And they will put it on themselves. And beg you for the privilege. Beating someone into submission is simple. Linear. There’s an end to its effectiveness. Coercion…that’s the best practice. Wield it well, and what they will crave most is surrender to your cause.”—Chamberlain

God, I love this character.

Chamberlain just admitted to trying to assassinate Xiao and was basically like “whatcha gonna do now?”

Now Chamberlain is at New Orleans.

“We burn them…because they had it coming.”—Wolf

And with that Madame President Palpatine is dead.

Xiao’s strategic hair placement has returned!

Death, why are you skipping stones when the world is ending?

Oh no! Constance! I hope this isn’t Chamberlain’s downfall.

Chamberlain bombed the fuck out of Xiao’s army and now there will be hell to pay.
