Goddess of the Hunt by Tessa Dare

1.0

This is the second time I read Goddess Of The Hunt, because I want to finish the trilogy and I barely remembered the characters and what happened to them.

And let me tell you, I don't know what could have possessed me to give this book 5 stars the first time.

I found the whole story boring and I couldn't bring myself to like any of the characters, apart from Jeremy himself and Sophia Hathaway.

Who could ever resist a stone-faced, cold-eyed sexy devil, who, in truth, just longs for love and acceptance?

And Sophia with her thoughts of pirates, tales of passion and vivid imagination is just wonderful.

I can't wait to read her book.

But Lucy Waltham, the heroine, herself? I can't, for the love of me, understand how I actually loved her the first time I read this book.

She is annoying, childish, selfish and immature.

It annoyed me to no end how she kept throwing herself at Toby's feet, arranging stupid schemes that could only end badly.

Especially with Jeremy there by her side. Gosh, she was so blind.

Her brother, Henry, was dull-witter, annoying and even cruel at times.

Toby, the guy Lucy kept throwing herself at, was a selfish asshole. He wanted all the girls to love him, so even though he didn't feel the same for Lucy, he kept encouraging her.

Felix, the other friend, was dumb as hell and his wife Kitty, Sophia's sister, was a bitch.

What a bunch!

So, unfortunately, I only felt the same way I did the first time in three situations:

- during the infinite period of time Lucy was running around like a fool, chasing Toby

- when Lucy realized (and me too) that she was tired of chasing Toby

- when I found out the truth about Jeremy's past

I will, however, read the other 2 books, because, like I told you, I want to finish the trilogy. But it didn't work for me.

Read it at your own risk.
