The Angel Maker
by Alex North
I absolutely love Alex North’s other books but this one sort of fell flat for me. It took me about a month and a half to finish because it failed to really hook me in like his other books have. I think the key issue is that there is way too much going on and way too many concepts to wrap your head around. The reader has to learn about determinism and its different perceptions/applications while also trying to keep up with constantly shifting timelines. We also have characters who have different names so if you take your time with this book you’re bound to forget who is being referenced when. There was a lot going on and while it did get good when everything fell together, everything else along the way was just a bit too much work.
