a solid breakdown of how we got here. i didn't really understand what reparations meant before reading it (although the author himself does not use this term). i appreciate books that acknowledge that they don't have the answers to an issue, but lay out all the problems in a clear and concise way without hyperbole. granted, rothstein does provide a few ideas for fixing the segregation issue and the reparations they call for, but if the majority of americans read and understood the contents of this book, we'd be able to take strides towards fixing a lot of the inequality that exists in this nation
