Awaken by Meg Cabot

THE CHARACTERS:
In this book, I kind of think that Alex was a little more whiny. That it until he was possessed (is this the right word?) by Thanatos. Pierce and John also seem to be more open with their relationship in this book, which makes me happy. Pierce's character has grown a lot form the first book. She is now more understanding of John and that she has to stay in the Underworld. John's character is so much nicer than he was in the first book. I really like Kayla's character; she makes me laugh. Though, she didn't change that much; if anything her current qualities became stronger. (This is just my personal opinion.) Farah (even though I really don't like her name. It's Sarah with an "f" at the beginning.) is really a nice character when you take her away form the jerks, like Seth.

THE PLOT:
Most times when I read a book, I try to figure out the plot line in my head, and it always turns out to be a squiggly line. The plots of this book ended quite nicely. My only question is, Is John's Underworld THE UNDERWORLD? There was some new stuff though, like the appearance of Thanatos. Also, there was never a dull moment. There was always action. Even, when John died everything kept going on. Pierce didn''t take that much time to be sad. (Since she got him back, I guess she didn't need it.) It turns out that Seth and his family are evil and power-hungry and stuff.

FANGIRLING/OTHER STUFF:
Oh my god! Then end with Pierce, and she wanted a baby. THAT WAS SO CUTE!!! John Hayden is so awesome and I love his character now. He's cute and protective. He's not controlling and crazy stalker anymore. The scene with Pierce's parent was so funny. I really wanted her parents to accept John and the story right away, but they didn't. Seth, I'm glad he's gone, and his family are all crazy. I love how Alex tells them about how Thanatos hated him. Another thing I enjoyed was when John was dead, and he helped Pierce kill Mr. Mueller. Also, I was under the belief (I'm not sure why) that there were THREE Fates and THREE Furies. That's it.
