Fairydale by Veronica Lancet

Overall review 4.3/5⭐️, this book doesn't need to be 700 pages long. I think i would love it even more if it ends with 400-500 pages only. Dark gothic hystorical romance. The blurb that i read was only mentioning odd stuff and a love-triangle between Caleb-Darcy-Amon. It was more than that, WAAAYYY MORE. To the point the my brain hurts from trying to figure things out.

In the beginning, the author already mentioned the fact that we need to read everything carefully and not skimmed read because everysingle question in the beginning will be explained in this little riddle on the last few chapters.

Overview of the whole novel is this book involve reincarnation, witchcraft, 'beast' form. If you are not into those things, then please reconsider things before giving it a bad review. With all of the reincarnation, i still don't think it needs to be 700 pages long. I would love it even more if it's just 500 pages. There are some things that could be cut short and some other things could be even more explained.

The strong love Amon felt towards his beloved was so sweet. And the fact that the FMC always felt the connection with Amon is also so sweet. Their love story is heartwarming, but again i wish it's not 700 pages.
BUT here's a little spoiler, AMON DID NOT TURN INTO A CAT. He'a not a shape-shifter of any sort okay. Stop sharing weird info on the review.

I guess here'the spoiler part of the review.
⚠️SPOILER ALERT⚠️
*I wrote all of this rant while reading. So please read it until the end to see my conclusion*

- Theres 3 lifetime that is being told in the novel. 1970, 1790, and waaaaaayy before those other times.

I dont know why, but the painting room scene has a lot potential to be really hot if Caleb didnt turn into a freakin weirdo with the blood sucking thing. (We will get the explaination later on the novel, very very close to the ending). But Caleb has shown a lot of weird attitudes since the beginning of Darcy and Caleb's meeting.

Also, i've noticed. Darcy couldnt be burn, or hurt, or be wet from the rain. I guess after 300 pages, i'm starting to get irritated, i just need to see Amon and the love interest (which kept changing names, despite i assume only 1 lady involve), and i just get confused. The one where they become husband and wife is between Amon and Sela, which i hope were the first lady Amon with. But then, in 1790 Amon and Lizzie's lovestory is even more sweet.

It is so weird that Caleb is trying, TRYING, so hard to claim Darcy. "Tell me you're mine" over and over again. The way i see it, he is somehow, trying to erase Amon?
How no one discuss the fact that the first time they met be said "welcome back", and then the next time they've met, he took her to the woods and got possesed?!

All the Hale's trying to do is putting blame on Amon. It's weird, as hell. Everybody is being weird to Amon.

Not to mention the fact, LIZZIE almost got raped 3 TIMES?! (Including her vision being raped by Amon). That is so unnecessary. But apparently Darcy also almost got raped. Even more unfortunately, Darcy grandma is also raped. Even Lizzie (Darcy's mother on the prolog) is also raped. There's so many rape mention, please check the TW.

So i guess, they're not entirely human. Amon is called Reva, i guess they're like monster looking creature, and Sela has strong powers. But i still don't get the whole story is related to the prolog??

Wait a minute, he said he doesnt care if she's Sela or Lizzie or Darcy. And yet when Sela's back, he's crying of happiness. I guess, Sela and Amon love story did start on Sela and Sela only. So that make sense.

Okay. Everything is answered at the VERY END of the book.
1. The butterfly scene is explained.
2. The Caleb being weird is also explained.
3. Amon-Sela relationship is being explained very detailed. Extra spicy scenes is also involve here.
4. Darcy power is also explained.

Unfortunately, i kinda hate how 'easy' it was to defeat it, to reach the happy ending. It only took around 10 pages(?). I kinda wish it would be more detailed. Only spells and a few slaughters, they're finally strong again. That's it. I guess it was fine since MMC and FMC's past life is horrible enough.
