This book was basically flawless. Masterclass in worldbuilding, magic systems and character arcs that are all cohesive and complementary. Beautiful and heart wrenching depiction of loss and grief. Surprising in the best ways. Everything you could ask for in a book. My one qualm was the pacing of the ending slowed down and drug a bit after quite a punch of a midpoint, plus seemed to set up sequel (sad the theonite world is over).
