I adore short stories, they're my favourite genre to read. This was the first time I've reached the end of a short story and felt so abruptly interrupted and wanting to read more. The writing is fabulous. Fast moving, but detailed enough to paint the scene and (surprisingly) invoke quite strong emotions. The story only takes a few minutes to read, but is richer than most full-length novels. A perfect peek into the sadness felt by immigrant parents of a mentally ill child. I'm not sure I picked up all the symbolism, bbut the story felt special to me. I may change the star rating on my review as I reflect and revisit the tale.
