The Home Wrecker by Sara Cate

4.0

Like most, I was hesitant about this book because cheating is a big part of the plot and usually cheating is a no go for me. However, this book seemed to make it work. While it did feel at times like the cheating was brushed over or simply moved past far too quickly, the acts themselves weren’t so offensive that it turned me away from the story.

Dean, Briar, and Caleb are a trio who do not get together traditionally by any means. Briar and Caleb are a young love romance while Dean is the ex-boyfriend of Caleb’s brother. Going into the relationship at the start, everyone had plenty of baggage to unpack and work through. I don’t feel like it was all really addressed, but enough was that I enjoyed the story. Towards the end, it got a little draggy, but there’s only so much chaos one can throw in while avoiding some big dramatic breakup.

Like most of Sara Cate’s books, the spicy scenes did not disappoint. Dean and Caleb knew their way around dirty talk and there were plenty of hot scenes to enjoy. Plus, with this being a MMF romance, there were some enticing duo scenes and some trio scenes to enjoy.

Thank you Sara for allowing me to receive an ARC of this book. I’m glad I didn’t choose to opt out because of the cheating trope and look forward to what is to come!
