Inked in Lies by Giana Darling
3.0
High 3 stars.
The first 25% had me in tears multiple times, but once we were firmly in the present (future?) my emotional attachment dropped.
Even though this is a standalone within the series, I can’t help but think I might like this more if I read the others first. I could maybe see myself increasing my rating to a four upon a reread with more understanding on the world/side characters. I do plan on going back to #1 in the series since I liked this one. There was also some great imagery and prose in this book; I think I’ll like Darling’s other works. Though on the flip side, while not bad, the sex scenes weren’t totally my favorite so you win some you lose some.
