The Bay by Allie Reynolds
4.0
⭐️ 4 ⭐️
Allie Reynolds has fast become one of my auto-read authors; after reading Shiver last year and loving it I couldn’t wait to get my hands on a copy of The Bay.
This character-driven, slow-burning thriller is well-written and I was hooked from the off; Reynolds writing is excellent and the chapters are the perfect length to keep you invested in the story.
I loved the remote setting which is beautifully described and extremely atmospheric — even though the story takes place (mostly) outside you can still sense the claustrophobic atmosphere. The well-drawn (not particularly likeable) characters all have their own flaws and secrets and I never really knew who to trust; I was left guessing until the very end.
The Bay is an excellent, highly charged, drama-filled, suspenseful read. Looking forward to reading more from Allie Reynolds in the future.
Many thanks to the publisher for my finished copy, in exchange for an honest, unbiased review.
