A Good Life by Virginie Grimaldi
2.0
Took me awhile to finish this despite the length, things got in the way. But, this was a very easy read. I didn’t like the way the book shifted from past and present, had me confused at first until I managed to catch on and keep track of events and characters. For me, characters could use more depth. Sometimes they just felt like talking heads to me, there were short parts in the book wherein everything was just dialogue and not much else. Then again, that’s just the tip of the iceberg.
I appreciated the themes of the novel and the message it wanted to convey it would have hit me more though had it expounded more.
Thanks to Edelweiss and the publisher for the arc!
