Voices from Chernobyl: The Oral History of a Nuclear Disaster by Svetlana Alexiévich
5.0
I actually started reading this book back in 2015 but I had to put it down because I was finding it too heavy.
The book contains a collection of stories and reflections from people involved and affected by the Chernobyl disaster. Alexievich does a superb job at portraying the emotion felt by these people, from extreme fear to an unnerving peace.
This was not a fun read but there was beauty in the sorrow. I’d definitely recommend it.
