This book feels like white people's version of 100 years of solitude, and it kind of works. If you can get past the poorly aged depiction of Native Americans and the reduction of all female characters to their relation to men in the book, its a decent read. There's some good stuff on family and experience, and seeing how Mrs. O'Keefe went from a young and happy child to a bitter old woman was compelling. Honestly, her story was the highlight of the book, and I would of liked to see more involvement from her. Charles Wallace is a Mary Sue for the 3rd book in a row, no surprise there. Its not a bad book, but there doesn't feel like there's too much to make it memorable. 2.8 stars.
