I was very compelled by the premise of this book after reading a review online and rushed out to buy it. Sadly, I was a bit let down by the book overall. I felt like a high school English teacher constantly asking Wilkinson to SHOW, not tell the story. I had to remind myself that there was supposed to be a reflective tone to Marie’s narration multiple times but in the end found that maybe a letter wasn’t the right format for this story that needs to be told.
