This was my first book by Rin Chupeco and I truly enjoyed getting to dive into some Filipino culture. The generalization about Americans, Hollywood, and doing what we want and not caring what happens hits especially with how things have been progressing here in the US over the past few years.
I really found myself getting creeped out while reading this book and probably shouldn't have read it before bed. But I truthfully couldn't stop. My one issue is that, I wish there was a portion that translated the Tagalog parts for the reader to understand. I'm part Filipino, but my nanay (mom) only taught me select terms and words. I would've loved to get the opportunity to learn more.
I can't wait to pick up more books by Rin Chupeco.
