It was kind of obvious. The plot was predictable and the writing was very matter-of-fact. It almost felt like Orwell was spoon feeding us his message. Speaking of which, this book's message is definitely something that's worth reading but as someone who's watched a considerable number of video essays on capitalism and the likes, there wasn't a lot of new content for me. It almost felt more like a history lesson. That along with characters that didn't have a lot of depth made the book somewhat of a chore to get through but at least it was short and to the point.

Overall I'm glad I read it but it wasn't the most enjoyable for me personally.
