she's kind of just like me (my dad isn't the devil he's just a republican)
ummmm idk this was kind of obscenely bad! not horror enough to be a true horror but not funny enough to justify it's existence as a horror comedy so ur kind of left in the middle with a bad taste in your mouth. kind of a wild ass move to make your end of chapter 3 plot twist be that the religious cult is just a bunch of satanists and then have them the entire length of the novel just act and speak like evangelical christians who have a penchant for decor bought from killstar. i don't have any skin in the game as someone deeply seperated from any kind of church, but evangelical christians ARE scary and ARE super prevalent now so it just felt.... weird? to do this? also i rolled my eyes because i'm still fresh in my seeping disappointment of the movie longlegs which like.... iykyk!
it was really predictable and boring and there was some fun to be had in the third act but that also felt immediately squashed by how phoned in and lame the needlessly long epilogue was.
