It took me a while to get into this story, but once I hit about 40% I was all in. I felt a bit disconnected to the characters, but the plot was an interesting concept that kept me reading. Once the action started I became engrossed.

Alex steals items for women who are heartbroken. She's an empathetic character who believes she's doing the right thing. I wasn't sure about Alex at first. I was annoyed with her at times and she seemed naive when she shouldn't have been. We don’t find out about her life until later on in the book, and even then I didn't feel satisfied. Alex was described as a badass. I would have loved to see her use her different fighting styles in the book.

Mitch, on the other hand, we learn everything about him right away. We see his struggles with owning his own security firm, and his frustrations with his clients. He was easy to relate to, he was just trying to be a good man. Mitch was realistic in situations, and I hated that his client doubted him. Many things wouldn't have happened if the client would have just trusted him.

Alex and Mitch's relationship started on lies, but they had that insta love scene. Once all the action happened, the plot became less about their romance and more on who wants them killed. The book ends on a romantic HEA, but the story is being continued in the next brother's book.

I received an ARC for a honest review
