The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo by Taylor Jenkins Reid
4.0

very mixed feelings. the actual story was incredible i’m a sucker for a good twist and i felt there was honestly more than one, i was waiting for things to be revealed that I didn’t even take time to want to know about what was meant to be the big reveal which made it so much more unexpected. I feel like rereading it will be an interesting experience. The main reason this isn’t a 5 star and was almost a 3 star is because while i appreciate the representation of queer ans BIPOC characters they felt so painfully written by a straight white woman in a way that made it feel super not real or profound in a book that felt real in all other regards. also the author writes about sex and women like a man and that’s icky
