Ruin and Rising by Leigh Bardugo

A powerful and beautiful ending that isn't one

Well, if I thought that the second book was slow, this one certainly wasn't. I loved how the actions followed one another, never a second to rest. The characters are truly fascinating (Nikolai has my heart) and the truth that is unraveled is just unexpected, but makes more sense than anything else. The villain is a complex and fascinating character with a tragic story and I just love that. It was a beautiful ending to this great trilogy, with a mesmerising universe, touching characters with difficult pasts and a light and pleasant writing style.

It definitely made me understand the obsession with Leigh Bardugo!
