Conviction by Denise Mina

4.0

I wasn’t expecting a lot from Conviction, I was searching around on TikTok for book recommendations in the thriller genre and came across it. While it sounded interesting, I know sometimes recommendations from there aren’t always what they’re cracked up to be. It’s safe to say I was throughly surprised.

It was a really interesting read, i felt connected to the main characters, well character. I wasn’t a huge Fin fan, he seemed very rude, but I suppose he has the right to it. His wife did just leave him.

I loved Anna/Sophie, she was very fleshed out. I also enjoyed the connections she had to the podcast she was listening to, very unique. We all have a fear in the back of our minds that we’ll be connected to something true crime related without knowing it. And this book showed that fear, with a variety of deeper fleshed out connections also.
