Silent Scream by Lynda La Plante

4.0

Good British mystery. Lots of suspects and it took quite awhile to whittle them all down. Showed how slow and tedious an investigation can be because of all the small details that have to be checked out. So many people lying kept leading everyone astray. The victim was not a very nice person even if she was a beautiful actress. Did play up some stereotypes about the movie industry. There were several subplots along the way, the fraud that the agent was pulling, the business with drugs and the undercurrent with Anna love life. Didn't really like the big boss stepping in and being such an overbearing person. Didn't like the way he took over and chastised the other detectives and the way he tries to run Anna's life.
