Me Before You by Jojo Moyes

5.0

Well.

This book tore me apart.

There are so many scenes that made me cry during the last 100 pages.

I finished this book at about 7am after staying awake all night, something I can say I haven't done in such a long time. At 6am, I was crying so hard that I had to close the book for a while, and after doing this a great deal of times, I took so long in finishing the last 150 pages.

I'm not going to lie, I cried more at this book than I did at The Fault in Our Stars. On one hand, I am upset that this book didn't have a happy ending but also, on the other hand, I'm happy it didn't.

Not to sound selfish and heartless, but I'm glad that Lou didn't get the happy ending that she deserved but I am upset at the way that Will let her know he hadn't changed his mind.

Almost every romance book has a happy ending, but not this one.

I felt sorry for both Will and Lou because they both loved each other so much but there was nothing that could be done.

When Lou got the call from Switzerland, I was so happy because I actually thought that Will had changed his mind and decided not to go through with it but I was just being hopeful. He did say that it wasn't enough to change his mind so he obviously wasn't going to do it for the sake of Lou. I'm glad he put himself first, unlike in most novels, where everyone puts everyone else before themselves.

When I finished this book, I was an actual mess and sat for 10 minutes, bawling my eyes out. I had to open the window so wide so that I could calm and cool myself down.

After all of this, I rated it an obvious and well deserved 5 stars.

Well done Jojo Moyes, you had me an absolute mess!
