This was my first book with my local book club and I really enjoyed it! And the timing was perfect because we had a ton of snow right as I was reading about the freezing Alaskan landscape. It does get kind of slow and repetitive in the middle. This was my first Kristin Hannah book, but I have heard from friends that her books tend to be that way. But don't let that stop you from picking it up. It's very much worth reading! The descriptions of the landscape alone make this book worth it. And you get so invested in the characters that it helps you push through that middle section. I'll definitely be reading something else from this author in the future!
That being said, I would give some heavy trigger warnings. Which I'll list below.
