Engrossing from beginning to end. Special props to the audiobook narrator for the absolutely stunning delivery of this beautiful story.

I was immediately drawn to the main themes and highlights of the book, which made it easy to cement this read as one of the best reads in 2024 so far. Themes of worldwide cooperation and alliances, a long friendship arc, a hopeful and optimistic tone throughout, and a healthy dose of snark humour … SIGN ME UP.

I will say, however, no matter how believable the science tries to be, this is a Sci Fi work and thus never “hard hard” science. I would encourage you (if possible) to suspend that disbelief as long as possible. I know that the more I try to interrogate the story, the more plot holes and questions I find…. But I’m choosing to ignore it all for the FEELS the book gives me.
