What I Talk About When I Talk About Running by Haruki Murakami

5.0

Such a smooth read. It's great to be reminded of how motivation doesn't need to stem from pain or darkness. Murakami was a born runner, he realized he was good at it, decided to take it up one day and stuck with it for years- his is a simple story of consistent motivation, no frills attached. But even with so much potential, coupled with years of training, he identified his weak spots and worked on them.
I am unlike him in more ways that I could count, but his simplistic writing style, his stories, the lessons he learned from all his running (which was in itself incredible!) struck a few unexpected chords.
