Artemis Fowl: The Graphic Novel
by Eoin Colfer
going in, I don't have any idea who artemis fowl is, nor do i have the attachment to this particular series. in fact, I've never heard about this before, and never even read the book.
the story is pretty fascinating, a 12 - years old genius fighting with fairy and other lower basement creatures? sounds like a fucking adventure.
but i couldn't get myself into it. i just, can't. for no reason? do i want to like this, yes, badly. but from the first time i read this, to just mere minutes ago when i finished it, i JUST couldn't engage myself with the story.
because i have never read the novel, jumping right into the graphic version is not a very bright choice, i must admit. the world building was just... not really there. it felt stale, and not interesting enough as i tried to go on with this book.
all in all, will i be reading the novel? perhaps, sometimes later, but it's not now, so here's my thoughts on my first ever venture into the artemis fowl realm
