I really enjoyed this story. At times, I felt that Silla's character was soft (i.e. not strong FMC energy), but over time she grew stronger. Additionally, the author spoke about this specifically in her acknowledgements, stating that a FMC can still show strength by making small steps each day, even if tired or grieving. That made me realize that Silla did show strength throughout. I liked seeing her relationship develop with the various members of the Bloodaxe Crew. I liked the spice with Silla and Jonas but man, I did not like what happened to him after Ilias died- what a traitorous dick. I liked Rey more anyways, so I hope his relationship with Silla deepens in the next book It was interesting to see the small snippets of magic in this book, and I have a feeling we'll see more of that in the next book! Overall, this was well written, had good world building, and I'm very intrigued for the next book!
Graphic: Death and Violence
