Wild Life: Finding My Purpose in an Untamed World by Rae Wynn-Grant

adventurous challenging emotional funny hopeful inspiring reflective medium-paced

5.0

Absolutely devoured this book, could not put it down.
I’ve followed Rae for years, but was not familiar with her story. Struck a strong cord as an early career conservation ecologist, SFS alum, and ex employee of the DC green NGO world. Thank you for being an inspiration!
I love her nuanced definition of success, and brutal honestly and openness about what it’s like to be a woman, a mother, in conservation ecology.
Also (spoiler) what really sold me was turning down the USFW job for ethical and personal reasons. On my knees, would dig the shit pit or gladly get mauled by a bear for you.  I hope to cross paths and attend her events at conferences and in the wild in the future!
