I grew up with Sailor Moon in the time of girl power! And now it’s time I passed on the light of the moon to my niece.

I decided to reread this just before gifting and I am a little bit disappointed in these newer versions. More romance and probably a little too grown up for a middle schooler. I remember Usagi crying cause she ate her lunch too early. Always hungry and always eating. I related to that girl far more than this girl pining for love.

I realise that these are based off the newer Sailor Moon Crystal anime. It’s just that it would’ve been nice for my niece to have more girl power and less romance to be empowered by.
Nonetheless, it’s Sailor Moon and it’s far too hard not to love her and all of the Sailor Guardians!
