This book was every bit the sprawling soap opera I didn't know I was looking for. Instead of picking one event to focus on for the story, we got to actually follow Daniel through it, seeing bits about his job, his family, his friends, and it made the story so much richer. This book was full of scenes that most other authors skip because they're not terribly significant, but I think that was my favorite thing about it. It sculpted these characters and made them feel more real by showing the nothings in between. It had the perfect amount of drama and sweetness, and I loved it.
